Astral Bob started as a personal notebook — a place to collect what I was learning about astral projection, lucid dreaming, and the esoteric traditions that map the territory of consciousness beyond the waking state.

Over time, the notebook grew. Friends asked questions. Strangers found the notes helpful. So I turned it into a website.

What This Site Is

This is a practical resource, not a dogma. I don't claim to have all the answers, and I'm not selling a system. What you'll find here are:

  • Tutorials — step-by-step guides to specific techniques, tested and refined through my own practice and the reports of other explorers.
  • Articles — deeper dives into topics like the nature of the astral plane, the energy body, and how different traditions approach non-ordinary states.
  • Book reviews — honest assessments of the literature, from classic texts to modern guides, so you know what's worth your time.

My Approach

I try to be both practical and open-minded. The astral projection literature is full of conflicting maps, systems, and claims. Some of it is useful. Some of it is creative storytelling. Some of it is genuinely illuminating. My goal is to present what works, acknowledge what's uncertain, and avoid pretending I know more than I do.

I believe that direct experience is the only real authority in this field. Books and guides can point the way, but the actual exploration — the practice, the failures, the breakthroughs — belongs to you.

Why "Bob"?

Because this isn't about me. Astral Bob is just a pseudonym for whoever's exploring — you, me, anyone on the path. Take what's useful, leave what isn't, and keep going.
